Aamir Khan reportedly escaped Tiger Shroff firing plot as gunmen failed to find his home
Actor Aamir Khan was reportedly the original target of the gunmen who fired on Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai on October 18. Investigators say he was spared because the shooters could not locate his home.
According to reports citing police sources, the accused surveyed the area around Aamir’s residence at least three times during a stay of nearly a month in Mumbai. The Indian Express reported that they found him hard to reach, as he was either away on film shoots or did not step out of his house for days. They then shifted their focus to Shroff, who was considered easier to approach because he plays football at Pushpa Park in Juhu every Sunday. Shroff’s car was fired on as he left the ground.
A police officer quoted by Hindustan Times said the group also failed to find Aamir because they did not know he had moved to South Mumbai. The same officer said Salman Khan has always been a target of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and that the suspects had also surveyed Salman’s residence. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has said the shooters were also told to scout actor Emraan Hashmi’s house but could not find it.
Soon after the attack, a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit claimed responsibility for the Bishnoi gang. He said Shroff was targeted for refusing to end his association with Salman Khan. Investigators say Pandit was in direct contact with one of the accused shooters, Jamsingh. Reports have put the number of arrests at ten or more, and police custody of four accused held in Haryana for allegedly supplying weapons was extended until October 28.
