Nana Patekar rubbishes Tanushree Dutta’s #MeToo allegations once again, calls them “All false”
Tanushree Dutta Calls Nana Patekar “Pathological Liar” Over MeToo Denial
In a recent interview, veteran actor Nana Patekar once again denied the sexual harassment allegations made against him by actress Tanushree Dutta during the 2018 MeToo movement in India. Patekar claimed that he knew from the beginning that Dutta’s accusations were false, which is why he never got angry.
“I knew that it was all a lie. That’s why I didn’t get angry. When everything was a lie, why should I be angry? And all those things are old. They have happened. What can we talk about them? Everyone knew the truth,” Patekar said in an interview with The Lallantop.
In 2018, Tanushree Dutta had alleged that during the shooting of a song for the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleassss, Nana Patekar had tried to sexually abuse her. She claimed that the song was supposed to feature her alone, but Patekar was present on set and allegedly tried to get physically close to her under the pretext of teaching her dance steps.
However, Patekar firmly denied the allegations, stating that around 50 people were present on set that day in 2008. In 2019, Mumbai Police cleared Patekar of the allegations after failing to find evidence to support Dutta’s claims.
Reacting to Patekar’s recent denial, Tanushree Dutta lashed out at him, calling the actor a “pathological liar” and claiming that he is scared due to his depleting fan base. “Now, he is scared, and his supporter base in Bollywood has dwindled. All those who supported him are either bankrupt or have sidelined him. People can see through his manipulations now, and thus he comes up with another major gaslight,” Dutta told Times Now.
The ongoing war of words between the two actors has once again brought the spotlight back on the MeToo movement in India and the challenges faced by those who speak out against sexual harassment in the industry.
